Young Adult Services is designed for young adults ages 17 and up that are currently struggling with academics in a traditional school setting, looking to seek and secure employment, and are in search of developing the life and social skills necessary to become healthy and independent adults.
Young Adult Services assists clients in achieving their vocational goals by offering a variety of lessons such as how to complete a resume, how to use a keyboard, how to interview, and how to job search. Clients work together to discuss concerns they have regarding entering the workplace and the demands of adulthood. Staff also assists clients with finding higher education opportunities and applying for funding if desired.
Young Adult Services assists clients in achieving their academic goals through GED instruction. Each client is assessed by the lead instructor to gauge their level of comprehension in areas such as math, reading, language, science, etc. Based on these measurements, a customized learning plan is developed which will ultimately aid the client in attaining their GED.
The Young Adult Day Program meets Mondays through Thursdays from 10:30am to 2:00pm for vocational learning and education. Lunch is provided daily to the clients who attend, and SanTan will assist with transportation to and from program if needed.
